What’s New:

Happy New Year to All! As I wrote in my final newsletter last November, I am beginning a new schedule in 2026. I will be working Tues-Thurs most weeks and not taking new Customers. I’m happy to refer those looking for a technician to my colleagues in the Piano Technician’s Guild. You can look at our local chapter website (click “Links” at the top of this page and go to Piano Technicians Guild-Columbus Chapter). Some of these folks are not in the greater Columbus area and some have retired, but most are still active. If you need more information, feel free to reach out to me. Again, I have not completely retired, just working fewer days and no longer scheduling new clients. I will continue with this website for now and post information monthly.

About My Business:

Routine maintenance is important for the care of your piano.  A well tuned, regulated and voiced piano is a joy to play, encourages good practice habits by making the piano sound and feel good and helps to maintain the value of the instrument.  Kim has been providing quality piano service in the Greater Columbus Area for over 30 years.  A graduate of Otterbein University’s music education department and Western Iowa Tech’s piano technology program, Kim is also a Registered Piano Technician with the Piano Technician’s Guild and is an active member of the local chapter.

“The field of piano technology is an unregulated trade. Therefore the Piano Technicians Guild has set its own standards of quality for piano technicians. The Guild has two types of members: Registered Piano Technicians and Associates…A Registered Piano Technician (RPT) has passed a series of rigorous examinations on the maintenance, repair, and tuning of pianos.”  — from the Piano Technician’s Guild website
